Invitational Champions

The motto of the Invitational is “once a champion, always a champion.”

Many champions have observed that, as a champion, they will always be able to come to the Champions’ Dinner and hit their champion shot in the year ahead, no matter their age.

The most famous quote that really sums up how many champions feel came from our 1952 champion J.D. Smith at the 1989 Champions Dinner. J.D said at age 82, “I wish this night would never end.”

That we have been able to bring this much joy to many of our past champions is something we cherish.

In the history of our tournament, there have been 43 champions, 18 multiple winners and 13 champions have successfully defended, some on more than one occasion.
